I am primarily responsible for the Enchina Room, where I create a nurturing and stimulating environment for our 3-year-old learners. Our program runs from 8:45 AM to 5:15 PM, blending structured activities with free play to foster your child's development.

On my first day in the pre-kinder room, I aimed to uphold professionalism while transitioning from my role in the toddler room. I learned the importance of clear communication, collaboration, and ethical behavior in fostering a positive and effective early childhood education environment.

I reviewed the National Quality Standards (NQS) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Observing my mentor’s approach deepened my understanding of how these frameworks guide holistic development and a sense of belonging for children.

We took the Kookaburra room to the library by train, where children explored books and enjoyed story time. They engaged actively and asked insightful questions, enhancing their language and social skills. This excursion emphasized the benefits of play-based learning and inspired me to integrate more interactive elements into our curriculum.

Over two days, I focused on Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP). I prepared to observe children individually, using these insights to plan supportive activities. I also joined my mentor to discuss the room program and shared my DAP plan for feedback.

I focused on creativity for my DAP by having children make animal headbands, emphasizing the process. I encouraged creative thinking with open-ended questions and let them freely explore their ideas.

We celebrated diversity and inclusion by updating our 'Our Family' area with new children's family photos. The children eagerly shared stories about their families and cultures, fostering a strong sense of belonging and respect for diversity in our community.

I prioritized children's safety and well-being with activities on dental hygiene and emotional awareness, while also using play to support their development through imaginative games and sensory exploration.
